Little Passports: A Global Adventure

Have you heard of Little Passports: A Global Adventure?? I went to a children's consignment sale today with my husband and we found out about this AWESOME global adventure for children. I can't believe I am a teacher and I have never heard about this before....Has anyone else ever heard about this?!?!?

There are two different subscriptions that you can purchase: World Edition & US Edition. The World Edition Sam and Sophia travel to a different country each month and in the US Edition Sam and Sophia travel to two different states each month.

Each subscription comes with different items. I am planning on purchasing the World Edition for my firsties this year, which includes for the first month: a suitcase, world wall map, travel passport, fun stickers, activity sheet, and access to online games. Then every month thereafter, I will receive adventure letters from Sam and Sophia, fun souvenirs from each country, stickers for the suitcase, passport, and map, photos, activity sheets, and boarding passes to access more games and online activities.

I am SoOoO excited to use this with my firsties this year! You should totally check it out, if you haven't already! You can check it out HERE

Skype in the Classroom

Skype in the classroom is the greatest site to include 21st century learning into your classroom. All you have to do is create an account and then you can create your own lessons or you can join lessons that other teachers have already created. My students had an AMAZING time skyping with two first grade classrooms for Read Across America. We skyped with a first grade class from Queen City Academy Charter School and a first grade class from Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.

We also just finished up our unit on The Wizard of Oz and my students got to skype with a 3rd grade classroom in Wichita, Kansas to learn all about Kansas. My students learned so much from the 3rd graders that they were talking about it for days!

Do you skype in your classrooms? If anyone is interested in skyping my students would LOVE to skype with you! :)  Feel free to leave a comment and I will get back with you.
