Classroom Websites
Well spring break is over and its back to the drawing board...sigh. At least there are only 9 more weeks until summer vacation! I keep telling myself I can do this and then I will be able to spend the whole summer with my precious baby boy....the love of my life!
I wanted to share some wonderful websites that I use in my classroom....
1. http://pics4learning.com/ this website gives free, copyright friendly images to use in your classroom.
2. http://docsstorybuilder.appspot.com/ this is a free website where you or your students can create their own story, all you have to do is create an account.
3. http://photopeach.com/ this a website where you can create free photo slideshows. You can add text and music to your slideshow to incorporate into your lessons, all you have to do is create an account.
4. http://voki.com/ this is a website where you or your students can create speaking avatars. This is a really neat website!
5. http://www.readworks.org/ this is a website that will give you lessons for interactive read alouds and its aligned to common core...its wonderful if your not already using it!
6. http://www.education.skype.com this is skype in the classroom website that I use to skype with different classrooms around the world.
Do you have favorite websites that you use in your classroom on a daily basis? Is so, what are they?

Skype in the Classroom
Skype in the classroom is the greatest site to include 21st century learning into your classroom. All you have to do is create an account and then you can create your own lessons or you can join lessons that other teachers have already created. My students had an AMAZING time skyping with two first grade classrooms for Read Across America. We skyped with a first grade class from Queen City Academy Charter School and a first grade class from Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.
We also just finished up our unit on The Wizard of Oz and my students got to skype with a 3rd grade classroom in Wichita, Kansas to learn all about Kansas. My students learned so much from the 3rd graders that they were talking about it for days!
Do you skype in your classrooms? If anyone is interested in skyping my students would LOVE to skype with you! :) Feel free to leave a comment and I will get back with you.
